video432 :
Hello. I need to get some particular music to use in a video/slideshow to promote a product online. I cannot find where to get permission for the particular songs that I want to use, or who to contact. Will I have to find a way to contact the artist, or the production company?
I have visited sites that sell royalty-free music (for a one-time fee), but I cannot find the songs I need. Please help, thanks.

Go to the ASCAP web site, which will tell you everything you need to know. In the event the composer isn’t a member of ASCAP, try BMI.
There are ‘middle-man’ consulting services out there that will help you find out who owns the license, set up a contract, etc.:
Hope it works out!
